The 60th Annual Motion Picture Sound Editors’ Golden Reel Awards will be held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday February 17th. Empty Sea Audio is nominated in the category of Computer Episodic Entertainment for our work on DR0NE. We are so proud of our team and will be keeping our fingers crossed for them!
Jason Krane was also nominated for his work on True Blood, a collaboration with Technicolor. And who would want to be left out of the party? Collin Ayers was also nominated with the folks at Treyarch for his work on Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
Empty Sea recently completed a full audio post package for Clark Baker’s SciFi short Vessel, including sound design, foley editorial and a 5.1 mix. The film features some incredibly inspiring images that were absolutely a joy to create sound for. Vessel also features the music of the immensely talented composer Austin Wintory, with whom we were privileged to be working beside. Empty Sea would like to thank Clark for the opportunity to be a part of this film and wish him the best of luck!

Awards season has arrived and we are overwhelmingly proud to announce that Empty Sea has received our first collective MPSE Golden Reel Award nomination! Collin Ayers, Corey Eccles and Mark Camperell each received nominations for Best Sound Editing in Computer Episodic Entertainment for their work on House M.D. “Nurse Jeffrey”!
Mark Camperell was also nominated for his work on Fable 3, a collaboration with Soundelux DMG. Not to be out-done, Jason Krane received two nominations for True Blood, a collaboration with Technicolor. The awards will be announced on February 20th at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
Tonight was truly Golden for Empty Sea! The 57th Annual Motion Picture Sound Editors’ Golden Reel Awards were held this evening at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Mark Camperell and Jason Krane both brought home hardware, making everyone here at Empty Sea as proud as can be! Mark won for his collaboration with Technicolor Digital Productions and Naughty Dog on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Jason also won for his collaboration with Technicolor Sound Services for his dialog work on True Blood! This was the first Golden Reel win for Jason and the second for Mark!
It’s awards season yet again and the Motion Picture Sound Editors announced the nominations for the 2008 Golden Reel Awards! Empty Sea’s very own Jason Krane was nominated for his work on the HBO drama True Blood. This was Jason’s first MPSE Golden Reel Award Nomination! We here at Empty Sea are quite proud of Jason’s dedication and talent and wish him well at the awards in February!
